Brief

For this project, I was tasked with rebranding a board game of my choice. It was recommended that we chose a game that we’ve played and are familiar with so I chose to do Monopoly. I was unsure of what I was going to do for the theme but I knew that doing something that I personally had interest in would be best. I don’t remember what made me think of it, but while brainstorming I remembered being younger and loved everything to do with space and exploring what’s beyond our galaxy. So I decided that my theme would be space exploration.

Now that I had what game I was doing and my theme, I started my design process while also thinking of possible names. One step of my design process was to create a word list. I wanted to add the word “Astronaut” but because I’m not the best speller, I had to look up the word. For fun I read the definition and it explained how the word originated from the greek words astro (star) and naut (sailor). I’m not the best with coming up with names for my projects but there was something about star sailors that stuck with me, so I decided that it would be the name of my game.
