Brief
Style Study.
For this project, I was tasked with studying a graphic designer’s style and creating a skateboard. However, we had a twist to also include a sarcastic phrase within the design.
The first designer I studied was Milton Glaser. I looked into his album covers as a point of departure and one I drew most of my inspiration from was his Bob Dylan poster. I mimicked the way he illustrated the hair in my design but in a brain melting way and used the phrase “I’m Fine.”
The second designer I studied was Saul Bass. I gathered inspiration from his movie posters and mimicked the usage of simple imagery and dynamic text.
